5th Annual "Q" - Nupe Fan-A-Thon
On a sunny day in June in Memphis the men of Omega Psi Phi and Kappa Alpha Psi joined forces again for their Annual Fan-A-Thon. For the past 5 years these two Graduate chapters have stood in the heat and collected Monies to purchase fans for the elderly of Memphis.
Henry Hooper of Kappa Alpha Psi and Joel Weathers of Omega Psi Phi have co-chaired this event for the past 5 years. This event is mainly about doing something for the community but it also shows young men that Just because you wear different colors that you can Work as one. Special thanks goes to Wal-Mart on American way, Shelby county department of aging and Radio stations WLOK, WRBO and WDIA for their support. Once the fans are purchased they are given to the County for free give away to any elderly citizen that Request one. Brothers Fenceroy, Kyles, Primous, and Richard Jones (5th "d" DR) have been on the frontlines for this event since its creation. Over 260 fans were purchased in a four hour period this year. Over 1,000 Fans have donated to the Department of Aging in this 5 Year period.
